Compilation tape no. 1
As clarification, no, I did not compile the CD. That was another member of the subculture (and given as there's only four it should be easy to work out who it wasn't). I do not compile CDs, I have a tape deck. Ergo, here is the tape.

"For What is Chatteris" Half Man, Half Biscuit
> "Cemetary Gates" The Smiths
> "Why Can't I Be You" The Cure
> "Stay Out of Trouble" Kings of Convenience
> "I'd Rather Dance With You"
> "It's hard to walk tall when you're small" Morrissey
> "Armageddon Days are here (again)" The The
> "Hallelujah" Jeff Buckley
> "Peach Trees" Rufus Wainwright
> "Poisoning Pidgeons" Rufus Wainwright
> "The Beat(en) Generation" The The
> "Matinee" Franz Ferdinand
> "Breathless" Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
> "Angie" Bert Jansch
> "New York Minute" Don Henley
> "Jackie" Jaques Brel
> "Oedipus Rex" Tom Lehrer
> "Soho Square" Kirsty Maccoll
> "Had To Be Her" Loudon Wainwright III
> "Moving To LA" Art Brut
> "The French Inhaler" Warren Zevon
> "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" The Smiths

Now, Zazzi, I am a very busy and considerate person. Do not comment in capital letters.

*raises eyebrows at the Art Brut*
I know you like them, but does it actually fit?

I very much enjoy posting in capital letters. However I still don't really have anything to say about the music. Sorry.

Art Brut, writers of the lyrics "All my friends think I'm insane/ I'm still in love with my old flame/ I want schoolkids on buses singing your name/ I'm still in love with Emily Kane" (a girl who dumped him ten years ago) not being pseudo bohemian losers? Specifically "Moving to LA" being ridiculously daydreamy and written with a rhyming dictionary ("I thinl I've got it sorted/ I'm going to get myself deported") Given that they pretty much embody the spirit of the subculture, yes, they do fit. With what else would you take issue

I would glady take issue with many things, but have neither the time, nor the inclination. Goodnight.

Yep. Four. Wow. The fact that you know three of them personally makes it slightly less exciting, but it is double our membership in July.

Erm... I thought I knew all of them personally...? Don't I? There's: JE, PBL, Me, K, and in fact TTS! So there's five!

K and TTS haven't joined. Nor did they co-found the subculture.

Oh, and will someone fill me in as to the identity of TTS? As we all know, I am dim and need help wherever possible.

Spell it out.

Erm, who DID co-found the subculture with you?
And will tell you who TTS in school, K.
Well, if TTS and K are not in the subculture, we only have three members, right?

Wrong.

J (one of several, the eldest one) co-founded it. There are four of you.
